The Hilbig, Smith, and Saylin Families

Members of the Keith and Susan Logie Hilbig family are Clarke and Maren Brown Hilbig (Amelie, Gabrielle, and Joshua); Greg and Jennifer Hilbig Saylin (and Katherine, Scott, Keith, Seth, Sophia, and Chloe); Todd and Jennifer Johnson Hilbig (Mitchell, Isaac, Abigail, Madison, and Jameson); Matt and Allyson Hilbig Smith (Samuel, Brandon, Olivia, Tyler, and Ashton); Paul and Sarah Crane Aaron Hilbig (Koby, Luke, and Naomi); and Craig and AunaLeigh Walker Hilbig (Emmeline, Brigham, and Truman).

We had a great time in Moab. In Arches National Park, we hiked the 3 miles to Delicate Arch, the ½ mile to Skyline Arch, and the 1.8 miles to Landscape Arch. All were spectacular and all the kids hiked the whole way except Jameson who Jenn and I packed on our backs with a neighbor’s hiking pack for infants. While at Delicate Arch (cliffs on either side), we visited with an older couple from Scotland who had made the hike too. They were able to take a photo of us all underneath the Delicate Arch. We also went out to Dead Horse Point State Park which has an amazing view of the Colorado River and did a Petroglyphs drive along the Colorado River; there is one spot where there is a crack in the cliff where native Americans had left a wood ladder to climb up the crack. We also hiked a wetlands area near Moab. On the last day Mitch and I biked the famous Slick Rock trail. I was surprised at Mitch’s fearless mountain biking ability. We took great video and several photographs that Jenn can perhaps forward to you once we download them. Mitch heard your and dad’s birthday voice mail on my cell phone and much appreciated the message.
